This is the first year of a two-year which course prepares students for the Edexcel International GCSE Biology exam in Summer 2027. It provides a thorough understanding of biological processes, including human physiology, plant nutrition, and ecological principles.

While prior knowledge of KS3 Biology is desirable, it is not essential.

The course combines interactive online sessions and self-directed study to build a strong foundation in biology and develop exam readiness.

Course Structure:
Year 1:

Introduction to Biology: Functions and processes of living organisms.
Human Digestive System: Digestion, absorption, and nutrition.
Nervous System: Nerve functions and coordination.
Plant Nutrition: Nutrient uptake and usage.
Microbiology: Applications of bacteria.

Year 2:

Structure and Function: Co-ordination, response, and homeostasis.
Human Eye: Anatomy and function.
Reproduction and Inheritance: Genetics and reproduction.
Ecology and Environment: Ecosystems and conservation.
Biological Resources: Utilisation and management.

Teaching and Learning:
Zoom Sessions: Weekly one-hour classes.
Google Classroom: Notes, homework, and feedback.
Homework: Regular assignments plus around 2 hours per week of independent learning
