Course Objective:
This course aims to explore the principles of chemistry, including inorganic, physical, and organic chemistry, to prepare students for the Pearson Edexcel IGCSE Chemistry (4CH1) exams in the summer of 2027. It develops analytical, methodical, and problem-solving skills useful both in academia and everyday life, laying a strong foundation for A Level Chemistry.
Course Description:
This course delves into the behaviour of matter, covering inorganic, physical, and organic chemistry. It fosters skills in analysis, methodology, and problem-solving, applicable beyond the classroom and in understanding current events.
Students will acquire and apply knowledge, critically evaluate scientific information, appreciate the practical aspects of chemistry, and use relevant mathematical principles.

2-hour written paper, 110 marks (61.1% of IGCSE)
Chemistry Paper 2 (4CH1/2C)
1 hour 15 minutes written paper, 70 marks (38.9% of IGCSE)
Entry Requirements:
There are no required grades or qualifications required to subscribe to this course. However KS3 Chemistry is beneficial.

Study Expectations:
Independent Study Time: Approximately 2 hours per week for completing assignments and homework.
Homework: Set and encouraged at the end of each topic to reinforce learning and exam preparation.

Subscription: A one off admin fee of £30 per family will be added to your first payment of each academic year.
