This course will prepare students for the Edexcel IGCSE French exam, to be taken in Summer 2027, by enhancing their language skills through interactive lessons, practical activities, and comprehensive grammar instruction over a 2-year period.
It is intended for students who have completed KS3 studies (with me or elsewhere) and are confident with KS3 topics and grammar.
Year 1 Topics:
Family and Friends: Relationships and interactions.
Education and Employment: School life and job opportunities.
House and Home: Daily routines and household activities.
Hobbies and Interests: Leisure activities and personal interests.
Media and Communication Technology: Use of media and technology.
Food and Drink: Dietary habits and preferences.
Special Occasions, Customs, and Traditions: Celebrations and cultural practices.
Shopping and Money Matters: Financial transactions and shopping experiences.
Grammar Topics:
Tenses: Present, future, and past tenses (perfect and imperfect).
Modal Verbs: Usage and application.
Pronouns: Basic forms and usage.
Prepositions: Understanding and application.
Comparative and Superlative: Forming and using comparisons.
Imperative: Command forms.
Teaching Methods:
Interactive Lessons: Engaging and dynamic teaching style.
Variety of Activities: Including PowerPoints, reading and listening tasks, role play, and games.
Skill Development: Emphasis on reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Weekly Homework: Assignments to consolidate learning and practice skills.

Expectations:

This course is designed to be engaging and comprehensive, ensuring that students develop a strong foundation in French language skills and are well-prepared for their IGCSE exams.

This class is covered by a regular payment every month.
Subscription: A one off admin fee of £30 per family will be added to your first payment of each academic year.
Payments begin on 1st October 2025 for 8 months.* **
Payments are made on 1st of each month.
*Courses of 8 or 12 weeks are paid over 2 or 3 months respectively.
** A Level 2 year courses are paid over 12 consecutive months.
