This class prepares students looking to sit the Edexcel GCSE English Literature 1ET0 exam which includes the study of Poetry, Prose and Drama. This is a two-year course, meaning that students will look to sit their Literature exam in 2027.
Lessons will focus on teaching key skills including: analysis, inference and evaluation of meanings. Students will be guided to consider the effects created by writers’ choice of language and structural features as well the adherence to the conventions of form. The historical, biographical and literary contexts of texts will also be explored.
It is recommended to allow an additional 2-3 hours of additional time each week for homework and independent study.
