This rigorous one-year course is meticulously designed to prepare students for the GCSE Latin examinations in 2026, adhering to the OCR J282F specification. The programme focuses on in-depth analysis of the prescribed literature set texts.

The course will cover:

• Literature Analysis: Engage with the set texts, developing skills to identify and interpret aspects of content, culture, social practices and values.

• Literary Techniques: Analyse literary style, including word choice, sound, clause length, and devices such as similes, metaphors, alliteration and assonance.

• Contextual Understanding: Demonstrate knowledge of the cultural, historical and literary context of each text.

• Exam Technique: Sessions to supplement language exam technique, including translation and comprehension skills.
