This course is suitable for KS3 children who wish to continue to build in intermediate French. They may have completed 1 or 2 years of KS3 but are not yet ready to begin the iGCSE course. It is expected that students will have previous knowledge of many topics at KS3 level.
It is ideal for younger learners (aged 11+) who wish to practise and consolidate KS3 work who may wish to start iGCSE next year or in the future. It is also equally suitable for those who just wish to continue with their French studies even if they don’t intend to take iGCSE.
The lessons are interactive and still include lots of games including guessing and memory games, Noughts and Crosses, Treasure Hunts, Stop the Bus, Questionnaires, Battleships and Dice Talking.
Topics will include some revision of previous topics but also new topics such as healthy vs unhealthy life styles, comparing town and countryside, environment and a focus on transactional language useful for holidays and revision of all the tenses learned in KS3 with new additional details plus new ones such as imperfect tense and the other future tense.
Homework is set and encouraged, particularly if students are wanting to progress to iGCSE.
