This course is designed to provide students with an introductory understanding of both the Latin language and Roman culture. It aims to introduce the fundamentals of Latin while exploring various mythological and historical aspects of Roman civilization.
By fostering an appreciation for the classical world, the course seeks to enthuse students about the enduring impact of Roman culture on modern society and lay a solid foundation for further study in both the language and its historical context.
Course Content:
• Introduction to Latin:
Basic Latin vocabulary and grammar essentials.
• Roman Mythology:
Study of Roman myths, gods, and legendary tales.
• Roman History and Culture:
Overview of significant historical events and cultural practices in ancient Rome.
• Classical Influence:
Exploration of how Roman culture has influenced modern society.
