This course aims to prepare your child for the IGCSE Mathematics higher paper offered by the Edexcel exam board. This will allow them to obtain grades between level 4 to level 9. The course content will be completed over a two-year period so as to sit the exam in summer 2028.

This course has been designed to avoid going through a single textbook in a linear fashion. Therefore, purchasing a textbook is not deemed necessary.

Resources Students Will Need:

Ideally a touch screen device with a screen size of 10 inches or larger to more easily participate in Zoom classes using the annotate function when necessary.

Exam Board and Examination:

The Edecxel international GCSE Mathematics exam is a well-designed specification that fairly assesses a student's aptitude. Assessment comprises two exams, of 2 hours each. A calculator is permitted in both examinations. The course specification can be found at Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics Specification.

Teaching and learning:

Teaching time: one 90 minutes lesson per week.

Homework is set weekly.
Parents should timetable two further 45-minute sessions per week for their children.
One session should be used to do the homework set; the other for general Maths revision of other topics previously covered.
